Here is an iPhone video that I captured over the weekend when I was setting up for a baby first-year session
A little sad story is that as I grew up in Hong Kong, an artist is not a job that is approved by most parents. A lawyer or a doctor is the ideal career to go. And of course, I’m not a smart kid that pursued my parents’ dream. I was an art major for a very short period of time but wasn’t able to stay in it due to the cost of the supplies and the time involved after school with not quite supportive parents.
But, this little creative corner in my heart has always been there since then. So from the moment I discovered this opportunity to be a part of Heidi hope design partner, I knew I would enjoy it. It’s like taking an art class again but this time, painting on a giant canvas! I had so much fun but also learned that it is not the same as you draw on an A4 paper… The amount of paint used was insane, I used up most of the white, blue and green acrylic paint from my kids’ art case and they almost got mad at me 😜
Here are some pictures from my phone when I was painting the backdrop on Instagram story🙌
Another challenge was that since my home-based studio is carpet, I needed a big surface area of the wall to hang up the canvas and I chose to paint in front of my garage door. Bad decision because I didn’t realize that I marked so many lines on the canvas with my garage door panel. We learn as we go right? I’m so happy with this project and can’t wait to create and experience it with you together.
