Oh, this is so expensive… no… This is the lowest… but I’m not sure are they good…
I get it, we all price shop! I do too. In fact, I think I’m an expert at finding a great value at a “reasonable price”. This is a word that people use a lot when they search for photography service.
A reasonable price is very subjective. For me, it is the service that they provide that is worth the investment.
In the photography world, we all agree that there can be a range from as low as free to up to a couple thousand. However, unlike some professions, there are no certifications that notate their worth.
I have come up with these couple of tips from my personal experience to find the best service at a “reasonable price” in any service.
1 – Look for the reviews
I like to go to the reviews and read what people said about them. I look for the quality of the reviews and if they are speaking of their experience or just one sentence of “good work”. I also look for the bad reviews and see is it a real claim and how the business responds to it or if it is an unreasonable client experience.
2 – Look for their social media
Are they active? This is so important to me as I want to make sure they are consistent in their work and see if they are engaged with their customers. It adds so much personality to the business and I love it. I also see their new/updated offers or products through those platforms to make sure they are appealing to me.
3 – Are they responsive
Nothing is more frustrating when you reach out to a business than when they don’t respond to you. I also like to talk to the business and see if they are friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions.
4 – Look for the recent work
This is mostly speaking to photography. The truth is, we all put our best images from different sessions on our websites to show the best variety but this also might be the only great pictures they have. Ask for the most recent pictures of what you are looking for. A full gallery on a recent session will do the justice of showing how well they handled the session and the quality of the photographs. It can also help you make sure the style is still consistent compared to what they show on their website as photographers change out their styles from time to time.
Hope these little tips will help you find the right photographer for your session. At the end of the day, photography session should be fun and stress-free.
And if you are interested in any of our service includes maternity session, newborn session, baby first-year session, cake smash session, family session, themed princess session or senior portraits in the Raleigh area, we are ready to chat and plan your dream session with you. 🙂
